Polish start-up – immense innovation or false hopes?

Start-ups, start-ups, start-ups … Wherever you go, whatever you read, they seem to be everywhere. Poland is no different, perhaps even more so that the “old money” nations like the US or UK. Are we really, as a nation, a new Sillicon Valley as some like to think, or is there still a long way ahead of us? Does a Polish start-up even have a chance in todays on-line world?

Only last Friday did I write about Justin Bieber having a concert in the Polish city if Łódź (Lodz) in March this year, and this morning I just learned, that the yearly Orange Warsaw Festival will be visited by Beyonce! One of the things I miss when I’m travelling is a good overwiev of local radio channels, especially when I’m driving. So I thought it maybe useful for you if I present the most popular ones. I focused on Warsaw radio stations because there are many (a total of 33 if I’m not mistaken) and the popular ones can be found all over Poland (although under different frequencies).

Will they legalize marihuana in Poland?

Recently, a teenage boy has committed suicide. His mother apparently claims that he was under the influence of drugs, and marihuana in particular. I will not comment on this personal tragedy, being a father myself I just can’t do that. However, this situation has started (again) a serious debate about the legalization of light drugs including marihuana in Poland.
