Don’t we all love it? In a shiny glass, ice cold, perfect for a hot summer day or a night out with friends. Beer is really making it as the drink of choice. Poland is no different, and Polish beer is becoming more and more appreciated by people locally and worldwide. Let’s take a quick look at the main beer brands out there (so you know what to drink) and the beer group corporations which run the business (so you can invest in your favourite).

One of the things I miss when I’m travelling is a good overwiev of local radio channels, especially when I’m driving. So I thought it maybe useful for you if I present the most popular ones. I focused on Warsaw radio stations because there are many (a total of 33 if I’m not mistaken) and the popular ones can be found all over Poland (although under different frequencies).

The Polish mail market is free

January 29, 2013 in Banking & Finance, Business News, General, Markets, News, Polish Business, Politics, Uncategorized

The Polish mail market has been under the monopoly of the National Post (Poczta Polska) for decades. The last years have brought a slight improvement due to parts the market becoming available to private operators. Starting January 1st, 2013 new legislation has freed the market also for letters weighing under 50 grams. Is this the beginning of the end for the national operator?

Polish charity – a small gift to humanity

January 29, 2013 in Basic Information, Charity, Children, Lifestyle, People

Throughout this blog I will constantly promote several Polish charity organizations. I am not getting paid for this, nor am I seriously involved in any of them. Polish franchising – simple yet innovative business ideas

January 27, 2013 in Basic Information, Business News, Investments, Polish Business

As it is my intention to write quite a bit about Polish business matters, I would like to start the series off with a short introduction to Polish franchising systems. As we Poles are apparently (according to some statistics which I don’t remember and hence cannot quote) a very entrepreneurial folk, but with not enough investment money, franchising seems a great option for many.

Medical Tourism in Poland

January 27, 2013 in Basic Information, General, Healthcare, Medical Tourism

Medical tourism is a fairly new concept and yet is has developed significantly throughout the last years. All this goes at very reasonable prices, making medical tourism in Poland a good option for many foreigners.

Polish in Poland – Part 1

January 24, 2013 in Basic Information, Language, Lifestyle

It’s time to say something about the Polish language and the ways you can learn it if you wish to. Be it just a slight bit, to get around your favourite Polish place, or full-time if you an expat down here or for whatever reason wish to learn. Be warned though – it may not be easy, or so they say …

Driving in Poland – Part 1

January 23, 2013 in Basic Information, Leisure, Transport

As much as I love Poland, there will be times when I have to complain or warn you from certain issues. Unfortunatelly, driving in Poland is one of them and I will have to write at least a few posts on the subject as there are many, many things which require consideration.

Will they legalize marihuana in Poland?

January 22, 2013 in Formalities, Lifestyle, News, Politics

Recently, a teenage boy has committed suicide. His mother apparently claims that he was under the influence of drugs, and marihuana in particular. I will not comment on this personal tragedy, being a father myself I just can’t do that. However, this situation has started (again) a serious debate about the legalization of light drugs including marihuana in Poland.
