A couple of days ago National Geographic presented their new episode of Air Crash Investigation series titled “Death of the President”. The movie, based on the official analyses of the crash, reports the accident which on April 10th, 2010 killed the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Lech Kaczyński, his wife and 94 other people of great state importance.

The actual movie can be found on YouTube, and I embedded it at the end of this post for your convenience. It was made in English, but the only available version at the moment has a Polish lector narrating the story. Even so, you might find it possible to “listen over” the narration and understand what is being said by some of the interviewed specialists.

The death of the President has caused trauma in the Polish society which is no surprise. Even today, 3 years after the crash the topic is very vibrant and keeps coming up in the media over and over again. Unfortunatelly, it has also divided the Polish nation in two strong fronts: one believing in the crash as such (and as shown in the movie below) and another believing in a planned assault from the Russian side.

I don’t wish to comment on the political aspects of the situation. It was a tragedy, important people have died. Let’s leave it at that. This is a short post, as I only wanted to make you aware of the existence of this movie.
